REMOVE THE GROSS STUFF
*It is critical to understand that “effectiveness” in this case means the removal of Biofilm and other contaminants. Biofilm is the microscopic protein residue from food, bugs, bacteria, etc. Paper towels and other low-quality cloths do not have the structural quality to remove these nasty remains. Without a network of millions of fine fibers to sweep it away, the Biofilm simply get smeared around on your surfaces and lays the breeding ground for more bacteria. Even the use of popular cleaning chemicals can do NOTHING to remove this sickening matter … they may kill it (aka “disinfect”) but the carcasses remain. Plus, at that point you are dealing with another problem, which is the chemical residue that now coats your surfaces and may cause other health issues over time. Yes, it’s gross to talk about, but you certainly deserve to know.
Incredible Breakthrough in Skin Care
MojaWorks’s Copper Peptides (GHK-Cu) outperform every other popular anti-aging ingredient. They offer the most natural, stable bond (deliverability to lower layers of skin) that actually penetrates, promoted deeper healing, firms, and smooths damaged skin.
- Uses only natural ingredients
- Completely fragrance-free
- Extends Botox effectiveness by up to 75%
- Doesn’t damage your melanocytes or increase the risk of hypopigmentation, which is a problem with some competing anti-aging cosmetics.
- Possesses anti-inflammatory properties
- Stimulates the body’s proliferation of stem cells and can reduce scarring
MojaWorks face cloths add an ultra-effective, 1-2 punch where one side of the cloth features its signature softer weave for cleansing (removing dirt or makeup) and a flip side that is designed to gently exfoliate the skin.
The Case for Copper Peptides
Most skin care products on the market utilize ingredients that temporarily plump out fine lines with moisture (i.e. humectants) or smooth creases by filling them in (i.e. emollients). Some are even designed to create an even layer of light damage to the skin, so as to trigger an immune response that repairs it, along with underlying areas.
The truth is, you’d be hard-pressed to find an ingredient that actually accomplishes all of that “that” being:
- repair DNA damage
- disassemble abnormal collagen fibrils formed during scarring and folding of skin
- re-form collagen in its normal pattern
- and do all of this without causing further skin damage (dermatitis)
MojaWorks, however, makes full use of one of the most natural contributing ingredients that accomplishes all of the above: Copper.
Copper is a natural trace mineral found within our bodies that is absolutely loaded with scientific benefits. It helps:
- Create red blood cells and empower immune response
- Activate our internal antioxidant system
- As an anti-inflammatory agent
- Support skin cell proliferation (for firmer and healthier skin)
- Accelerate the healing of wounds
- In restoring the skin’s protective barrier to UV susceptibility
- Decrease infection
- Support DNA repair
- And is continually recognized in peer-reviewed medical journals for its inestimable value to cancer research
While there are other ingredients known for their “anti-aging” properties—namely Retinol, Vitamin K, Tretinoin, Vitamin C, and Melatonin—none of these are able to perform any lasting work like Copper does because of the struggle they have in bonding to peptides.
What the heck is a peptide?
Peptides are strings of amino acids (the building blocks of protein) that act as delivery systems for the active molecules they bond with. In plainer terms, peptides are the vehicles by which a key ingredient can actually penetrate your skin and work its magic.
Copper Peptides (aka copper tripeptide-1, GHK-Cu) have the most stable bond of any anti-aging ingredient, which means it actually maintains its potency all the way from bottling to application to absorption.
In a few different trials, Copper Peptide was pitted against other ingredients known for their anti-aging properties. Those studies concluded that copper peptides out-performed retinol, Vitamin K, tretinoin, vitamin C, and melatonin.
Its effects were even evident at concentrations as low as 2%. It also hasn’t been shown to damage melanocytes or increase the risk of hypopigmentation in subjects with dark skin, which is a common issue with retinol and other harsh resurfacing agents commonly used to treat scarring.
It is also critical to emphasize that no artificial preservatives or fragrances are used in any MojaWorks skin products, unlike many competing brands that openly use paraffin and other synthetic substances to extend product life or make it more desirable. The danger with unnatural additives is that they are indirectly linked to certain forms of cancer and other ailments.
So what’s all the hype about Collagen and Elastin?
Right now, you might be using a topical product that says it contains collagen or elastin. The implied message a lot of advertising agencies are hoping that you get when they tout ingredients like these is that including them in a topical formula somehow translates into building up more collagen/elastin (respectively) in your skin. The truth is that there is a place for these ingredients in a topical skin care product but it isn’t in synthesizing collagen/elastin. These ingredients are both incredibly effective humectants (water-binding agents). Humectants moisturize and can have a temporary “plumping” effect on the skin. However, collagen & elastin molecules are too large to penetrate into the epidermis, let alone the deeper layers of the dermis where your body synthesizes its own fibrils.
Applying collagen to your face does about as much for helping your skin create collagen as throwing severed limbs at an amputee would do for growing their appendages back.
In reality, there are precious few ingredients that serve the function of synthesizing new collagen. There are even fewer that behave similarly to antioxidants that penetrate deeply enough into the skin to reach their target tissue or do all of that without any known measurable toxic effects. This post didn’t even touch on the effect its had in and , and stimulating the body’s .
Copper peptides are by no means miraculous and we wouldn’t say our product is “a facelift in a bottle,” but we included them because their positive effect on skin is backed up by peer-reviewed studies and a consistent safety record. Copper Peptides are just one of many carefully-chosen ingredients that we at MojaWorks are proud to use in our skin care line.
